PREMISE
Role:
UX/UI Designer
Tools Used:
Squarespace, Figma, Photoshop
I'm currently designing the website for From the Dust Creations, a new creative company.
To start the creative process, I sat down with the owners to hear their vision and dreams for their company: what their goals are currently and what they'd like From the Dust to be one day. Getting short-term and long-term goals and dreams helps me be a better designer because I can create something that allows room for growth one day.
Right now, their goal looks like showcasing a blog, offering artwork commissions, and selling products that they're designing collaboratively. They want their products to be encouraging and uplifting to people, and eventually want to help people "love others deeply through community, creativity, and coaching."

PROCESS
After we had the conversation of what the big vision is for From the Dust and viewed it from a birds-eye perspective, I focused on what the website requirements should be in the current phase of the project.
I determined that we needed an effective landing page to start with; the site needed a hook that would draw viewers in and invite them to learn more. I started working in Figma to design a wireframe showcasing the different things the site would offer.

We're trying to have a spring/summer release date, so right after creating these wireframes I started moving those designs into the Squarespace site. Mark and Laura had already picked out their brand colors and simple logo so I implemented those into the site.
This is the current progress of the website for From the Dust. I will be updating as we continue our work!
