I am a senior in the Interactive Design degree program at Kennesaw State University, graduating in December of 2018. In this program I have learned and honed many facets of Interaction Design, including UI and UX design, Goal-Directed Design, Lean UX, usability testing, and HTML/CSS as well as additional skills like SEO and brand identity. I have worked both on individual and group projects in this degree, focusing on aspects of design found in all stages of product creation: sketching out user experiences, persona creation/scenario writing, brand creation, prototyping, and interface design. One of the things I love about Interaction Design is how it touches all methods and phases of the design process.
I believe working as a group, especially in a system like Lean UX, brings everyone's skills to the table and allows every voice to be heard.
In my Interaction Design class, I was voted a Scrum Master for a group-based design project. My team and I are currently working with a combination of Agile and Lean UX, and I am looking forward to moving through the sprint cycles, motivating the team, documenting the process, and creating a great product that provides an excellent experience. I enjoy teamwork and collaboration immensely, am extremely detail-oriented and like organization. I would love to work in a collaborative environment doing work like brand identity, goal-directed design, or Lean UX. Brand identity appeals to me because it's asking the question of "What is [product/company]?" and then answering it with a strong, consistent visual brand. Summing up a concept, business, or product in visual design and user experience. It's another thing I love about Interaction Design: problem-solving. |
